Before I present you with a lovely little workout that will make you sweat your beeeeeehind off this weekend, can we talk about Pokemon Go for a second?
The craze has hit Vancouver and it’s making people go cray. Yesterday I was driving home down a pretty quiet road, and there were people walking IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD with phones in front of their faces. I politely drove slowly behind, expecting them to realize I was there and clear off to the side in a few seconds, but I swear it was at least a minute before they moved. Then I went to Whole Foods and clearly there was some sort of Pokemon character to catch in the produce section because my kale and I nearly had a collision with a dude trying very hard to “catch em all!”
It’s a dangerous world out there, friends.
In other news, I’ve been looking forward to today – well, since last Friday. Not because it means the weekend is near, although that’s awesome too. BUT Friday is also becoming the day that one of my best workout buddies and I get together for a wicked sweat session at Vancouver’s fabulous Tight Club. This is a studio I experienced for the first time last week and as my sweat-covered self sprawled out on my mat at the end of class, I knew I’d found my workout peeps. The atmosphere is awesome, the community vibes are strong and if you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking them out.
Work It Out
As always, the routine I’ve got for you today is one I tried earlier this week and it was MEAN. If treadmills bore you, I promise this will change your mind. If sprints are your jam, you’ll adore this. And, if you only have 30 minutes, then that’s AWESOME because it’s all you need. The circuit mixes strength training (mostly bodyweight exercises), very short and intense treadmill sprints, and walking recoveries. The best part is that the entire thing only takes 30 minutes and if you do it right, that will feel like plenty!
The Lightning Round Circuit Workout
This workout is made up of 3 circuits, each of which has 3 moves. You’ll repeat the moves in the first circuit as many times as you possibly can in 6 minutes, then hop on the treadmill for two 1-minute flat-out sprints. Then you’ll move into circuits 2 and 3, again completing as many cycles of the exercises as you can before sprinting again. Feel free to add dumbells wherever you like for an extra challenge.

Turn It Up
Aghhhhhhh guys, this week’s song is ah-maaaaaa-zing. I don’t even want to know how many times I’ve listened False Alarm by Matoma ft. Becky Hill this week, and if Youtube were like one of those old cassette tapes that I used to tape the radio on when I was 10 (admit it – you did it too), then I’d have most certainly have broken it by now. SO GOOD – and even better when listened to with headphones.

Haha the kale aisle! Good choice Pokemon, good choice. I have yet to download the app! I can see how it is fun, but I could also totally get sucked in. I wonder if there are any Pokemon in the mountains? On tap for this weekend: finally a rest day tomorrow, and long run Sunday! Maybe some yoga too
This morning, I wanted to do a body weight exercise on my deck. I was scrolling through a bunch of apps and finally I was like…forget it. Ange will have something. ANNNND you did. 🙂 This was awesome.
