How was your week? Once again, I’m more than ready for a break and can’t wait to go catch up with some of my friends in Toronto this weekend. There’s also some swimming, biking and running on my agenda, but we’ll talk more about triathlon training on Monday. For now, anyone up for joining me in a core workout?
Work It Out
If you participated in my January 2-week core challenge, you’re midsection is probably feeling pretty strong these days – perhaps even a little sore, and that’s not a bad thing! If you fancy giving it a new test, I’ve got a new one for you. It’s not another 2-week deal (although I may do something similar in the future), but rather, a little circuit you can do in the gym, at home, or while traveling. All you need is a medicine ball or some other heavy object. Even if you missed out the core challenge earlier this month, I think you’ll still have fun with this one. 😉
The Iron Core Workout
Do each of the moves below, one immediately after the next. If you do them right, your abs should be totally quivering near the end of each round! Take a few minutes rest, then repeat the whole thing again twice for a total of 3 rounds.
Turn It Up
Alright guys, there are NO WORDS to describe how much I love this week’s song. It’s called Alone by Armin van Buuren ft. Lauren Evans and you need to listen to it right this minute. The build up to the chorus is brilliant and I love the driving beat once it picks up – it makes me want to throw my entire heart and soul into my run, cycle, or do whatever it is I’m doing at any given moment. I’ll just shut up and let you hear it for yourself, but know that it’s about 10000x more impactful when listened to with earphones! (Video is here if you can’t get the one below working.)
